30 December 2019
Season’s greetings esteemed members of SiBAN community.
Since I was called upon in December 2018 to serve as Chairman of the highest cadre of industry leaders at SiBAN, I have been privileged to serve you all in our growing SiBAN community in the best interest of our association.
Today, SiBAN is not where it used to be a year ago.
We haven’t built mansions for SiBAN. We haven’t built roofings. In fact, we haven’t even built pillars but we built bridges that have connected and still connecting the ecosystem.
In the last one year, what my focus has been is to lay a solid foundation for SiBAN upon which any focused leader can build any lasting structure. Today, we have built SiBAN on a strong foundation of common vision, goals, values, and common mission. Today, we have institutionalized our collective beliefs in such as way that no single person, including me, is more powerful than the association. Today, I can step out of office and SiBAN will go on. This has been my dream and I’m happy that I can say today that SiBAN is not where it was yesterday.
Today, it is time to draw the curtain. I thank all of you who have given us the mandate and the support that have seen us through the hard times and the low times. More hard times will come, but I’m confident that we are stronger. Together.
Thanks to all of you in this community, we have together brought SiBAN to the forefront of Blockchain and Cryptocurrency in Nigeria and made it indeed a place where all interest groups and individuals in the space can have a platform for collaboration, a common ground where all voices matter. SiBAN is today respected across Africa.
I have no doubt that if we unite more, we will do more exploits together. Nigeria is the biggest country in Africa and the biggest black nation. There is no reason why we cannot be the biggest community in the black diaspora and indeed globally. Together, we can. Let’s unite. Let’s build pillars, not walls. Let’s build bridges, not traps. Let’s work together.
To steer us to the next phase by overseeing the nomination process for new leaders, I appoint Charles Azih as Chairman of the Steering Committee. He will be assisted by Chike Okonkwo and Gabriel Eze.
In accordance to the SiBAN Constitution, I hereby dissolve the current Caretaker Committee.
Thank you for the privilege of letting you serve in the last one year.
Happy New Year in advance.
Pnaul Ezeafulukwe
Outgoing Chairman,
SiBAN Caretaker Committee
