SiBAN will now hold physical monthly meetups at Moneta Hub, Allen Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos. The monthly meetup will come up every third Friday of every month. This is after a collaboration between SiBAN and Moneta Hub in February 2021. Both SiBAN and Moneta Hub recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
Apart from monthly meetups, SiBAN now also maintains a virtual office at Moneta Hub, effectively moving the SiBAN Secretariat from its current address to the hub: 2 Allen Avenue, Gabriel Akinmade Plaza, Buffalo Building, Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria. SiBAN registered members will also enjoy discounts whenever they sign up for any of Moneta Hub’s workspace plans.
“Moneta Hub facility is great. Apart from its hall for meetups, it provides a conducive workplace where anyone can work virtually with fast Internet and all at an affordable rate”, says Senator Ihenyen, SiBAN President, who personally visited the Moneta Hub facility on 5 February 2021, the day the CBN prohibited cryptocurrencies in Nigeria’s banking and financial system.
Expressing his delight with having SiBAN, Nigeria’s self-regulatory body in the emerging blockchain industry, Adekola Taiwo Aderoju, Manager at Moneta Hub, welcomes the SiBAN community to the hub. In his words, “It is a great feeling to be part of the buildup of blockchain sustainability in Nigeria and Africa at large.
This is a community that can drive the independent development of technology in Africa and also minimize unemployment in Nigeria. We are indeed proud to create a distinctive home for SiBAN and her community members”.
SiBAN Monthly Meetup this March comes up Friday, 19 March 2021, 5:00 pm–7:00 pm (WAT) at Moneta Hub. The topic for discussion is “Blockchain & Cryptocurrency: Opening the Window of Financial Inclusion.”
Amongst some other Lagos-based SiBAN members, as well as friends and other members of the community, Senator Ihenyen (SiBAN President) will be at the meetup. At the meetup, Nathaniel Luz’s book, Digital is the Cash, will be distributed to the first 30 attendees for free.
To gain entry into the SiBAN Meetup venue, please ensure that you come with your face mask. We strictly comply with Covid-19 restrictions.
Don’t miss the SiBAN Monthly Meetup in March!
